Performance anxiety

Performance anxiety is the fear of the consequences of being unable to perform a task or of performing it at a level that will raise expectations of even better task achievement.

It can happen to anyone and some of the people who have been open about their performance anxiety are Andrea Bocelli, Adele, Missy Elliott, and Miley Cyrus

This type of anxiety includes fear of

  • public speaking
  • taking a test
  • oral presentations
  • participating in classes or meetings
  • singing or playing a musical instrument in public
  • eating in public

When the performance anxiety is related to feeling unable to perform the cognitive coaching is a good technique to help you to change the thinking pattern. I use methods that create results and helps you to avoid emotional disrupting elements in the process. This is done by finding the optimal resources and providing you with tools to change the thoughts and behaviour.

If the fear associated with performance anxiety is focused on negative evaluation by others, embarrassment, or humiliation you can benefit from working with a fully integrated therapy process.
